BFAR'S ADOPT A SCHOOL IN COASTAL COMMUNITY
In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) continues to strengthen its commitment to Gender and Development (GAD) through the Adopt-a-School-in-Community program.
This initiative aims to empower women and young learners in coastal communities by integrating gender-sensitive education in fisheries and aquaculture.
Through capacity-building workshops, livelihood training, and leadership programs, it helps break barriers and promote equal opportunities for women in the fisheries sector. 🐟👩🎓💼
By fostering inclusive and sustainable development, this program ensures that women and girls play active roles in shaping the future of aquatic resources. 💜
Through this effort, more individuals are inspired to contribute to a more equitable and empowered fisheries industry.

With hundreds of athletes, coaches, and guests expected to arrive, we are ensuring that clean, accessible, and functional restrooms are ready for everyone’s convenience.

SAPES Ano ang Latest?
San Agustin (Poro) Elementary School is preparing to serve as the billeting area for the SDO San Carlos Delegates during the upcoming Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) event which will be held from March 9 to 15, 2025.
On February 18, 2025, the school under the leadership of Maam Alma G. Balubar EdD Head Teacher III, held an orientation with faculty members to discuss their roles in hosting the delegates, focusing on logistics, accommodations, and coordination.
The following day, February 19, 2025, a meeting was held with the School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA) officers to address volunteer efforts, transportation, and other necessary support for the delegates' stay.
With strong teamwork from both faculty and parents, we’re all set to provide a warm and welcoming environment for the delegates!
Eucharistic Mass
The Pupils and staff of San Agustin (Poro) Elementary School gather for the Eucharistic Mass at the covered court. Led by , Rev. Fr. Gary Zaldy P. Patiag, Parish Priest of Saint Jude Thaddeus Parish Church, the Mass is a time for prayer and reflection. Students participate by singing and listening to the readings, with the highlight being the reception of the Eucharist. The Mass ends with a blessing, leaving everyone with a sense of peace and unity.
Eye Check up and Distribution of Eye glasses
The La Union LD Lions Club successfully conducted an Eye Check-Up and Free Glasses Distribution for selected pupils of San Agustin (Poro) Elementary School. This initiative aimed to support students with vision difficulties by providing them with proper eye care and corrective eyewear.
Through the dedication of the club members and the support of volunteer eye care professionals, the selected pupils underwent eye examinations and received free eyeglasses to help improve their learning experience. This project reflects the Lions Club’s commitment to serving the community and promoting better eye health among young learners.
The event was met with gratitude from the students, teachers, and parents, who expressed their appreciation for the club’s generosity and efforts in making a positive impact on the children’s education and well-being.

A Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session on Canva Essentials for teaching and non-teaching personnel was successfully conducted, facilitated by Marc Daniel N. Ireneo, Project Development Officer I. The session aimed to enhance creativity and digital skills, empowering participants to create engaging educational and professional materials using Canva.
